A: That shows the number of tasks I have in hand at present moment. I break down my work to individual tasks, say putting up a website may involve tasks such as "slicing up design", "editing stylesheet", "installing CMS", "touch up photos" etc.
At times, I may have active projects in hand but without active tasks, for example, when I'm waiting for client's review, or submission of contents etc.
The indicator serves two purposes:
1. to indicate my availability for additional assignments
2. to estimate my turnaround time

Q: What is this site about?
A: This is a website about me making websites, also about how I can make your website for you for an affordable fee. To have a look at the kind of work I have done so far, please see my portfolio
Back to topQ: Can you build all kinds of website?
A: Yes and no. There are certain websites I don't do. Currently include but not limited to:
- Sites intended for defamation, be it against individuals, organizations, religions and belief (whether or not I support or against the intent)
- Porn sites (and there is difference between porn and nudity)
- Gambling sites (be it online or offline)
Q: I don't want to use template, can you custom design a website for me?
A: I don't do custom design. My focus is on "site design", not "graphic design". Site design means designing flow of contents, the structure, the architecture, the usability; there is a short name to call all these -- information architecture. However, if custom design is important to you, I can recommend some good designers to you.
Back to topQ: How do I pay you?
An invoice will be issued to you for all jobs done. You can pay by PayPal (in US dollars), or you can pay by direct bank transfer, by check, or by cash (in Singapore dollars).
50% of downpayment is payable prior to commencement of jobs. The remaining 50% is payable within 15 days after launch of website.
Q: I'm not sure if I can trust you
A: Yes you can. If you don't, don't hire me.
Back to topQ: What is that "Current Status" indicator? What is it for?
Q: Dean, how do you justify your rates?
A: Agencies in Singapore charge between 70 SGD to 150 SGD for a standard HTML page. Including conceptualization, design and production can yield a total billing of 2000 SGD for a simple website. I know because I worked in agencies before.
Of course, looking at the other extreme, you can easily find a college kid who is willing to design your site for the price of an Xbox (or maybe just the game CD).
The choice is always yours. For sure, coming from me, you will certainly get what you will pay for.
Q: You seem to know what you're doing, would you be interested in a full-time job?
A: Currently, I may consider job offers from the following countries:
- China
- US
Q: What is your mission and vision?
- Mission:
- To produce more useful websites
- Vision:
- Everyone lets me produce more useful websites
